1. My name is Kim Morrissy, although most people call me Frog-kun on the Internet, or Froggy. I’m a freelance Japanese-English translator and the writer of Crunchyroll’s weekly Found in Translation feature. This is my personal blog where I discuss general anime-related things that interest me.
2. If you scroll through the front page, you’ll find I like to preface a lot of my posts with memes or macros. That’s why it’s called Fantastic Memes, even though it’s not a blog specifically about Internet memes.
3. This is predominantly an anime blog. That being said, the scope is very broad. Not only do I write about the latest anime, I also write about other forms of Japanese pop entertainment, predominantly light novels but also manga and visual novels. I also write often about fandom and otaku subculture. Occasionally, I might post about something unrelated as it just so happens that I have a life outside of anime, but I’ll generally try to link the topic to anime somehow for the sake of consistency.
4. I update about once a week. But I don’t have a strict updating schedule, so bear that in mind.

Why Follow This Blog?
This is a good blog to read if you’re interested in alternative perspectives about anime, manga and light novels. I try to shed light on underappreciated topics like the anime industry, the art of animation and untranslated light novels. I’m a freelance translator by trade and I also have a Japanese studies degree, so I’m particularly interested in cultural differences and translation issues.
I also believe in having fun with fiction. You’ll see posts about shipping, crazy fan theories and joke lists alongside the more informative content. In general, I try to keep the tone of my posts light-hearted and fun to read.
Look at the sidebar to the right for some recommended posts on this blog. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the topics and discussion on my posts. Feel free to comment and share your thoughts!
About My Translations:
If you’d like me to translate something for you, please read this post for details.
About Reviewing/Promoting Products:
If you want me to review or promote something on my blog, ask me about it via email. If it’s something related to anime and manga, I’ll look into it. However, because I am only a single person with a finite amount of time, it may take me some days before I can get back to you.
About Blogroll Links:
If you are a new blogger, feel free to leave a comment or email asking me to check out your blog. However, please do not ask me to put your blog on my blogroll. I link to blogs I read often and I choose them at my own discretion.
To the Readers:
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have fun reading this blog and it always warms my heart when someone new decides to follow it, like one of my posts or comment. Most of the fun in being an anime fan is interacting with other fans, so don’t hesitate to speak up and share your thoughts.
I think that’s about it for now. Later!
