All right, let’s do this.
Kyoukai no Kanata: Every time Mirai acts outrageously moe, take a drink.
Coppelion: Every time the show completely contradicts how the military works in real life, take a drink.
Nagi no Asukara: Every time Hikari is an asshole, take a drink.
Infinite Stratos 2: Every time Ichika is physically abused by an attractive female, take a drink.
Kill la Kill: Every time someone wears a flagrantly revealing outfit, take a drink.
Log Horizon: Every time the cute girl refers to the main character as “My Lord”, take a drink.
Diabolik Lovers: Every time any of the guys show their undying love and affection for the heroine – and by this I mean every time they try to rape her and call her a “little bitch” – take a drink.
Yozakura Quartet: Every time the show flashes Ao’s panties, take a drink.
Monogatari Second Series: Every time Arararagi acts like a pedophile, take a drink.
Unbreakable Machine-Doll: Every time Yaya acts clingy towards her grumpy master, take a drink.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Every time the horrible CG battleships appear, take a drink.
Kuroko no Basuke 2: Every time MAGIC BASKETBALL is on display, take a drink.
BlazBlue Alter Memory: Every time a flashy new character appears without any context whatsoever, take a drink.
Noucome: Every time the main character is forced to make a dumbass choice, take a drink.
Valvrave: Every time a nonsensical plot twist happens, take a drink.
Which anime will get you drunk the quickest?
PLACE YOUR BETS.
This is the most lethal drinking game I have seen. Watch more than 3 shows this season and you are dead.
I don’t drink, but if I did… I just watch too much anime, your game would kill me.
Oh wow, you’d be completely smashed after half an episode with most of these. Tempted to go with Nagi no Asukara, since for the first few episodes it seems like Hikari being an asshole IS the show, but he seems to have improved slightly. Machine-Doll, maybe?
Also, I’d be curious to see ideas for Magi, Outbreak Company and Golden Time. :P
I racked my brains. Couldn’t think of much, but here we go:
Magi: Every time the show makes a joke at Alibaba’s expense, take a drink.
Outbreak Company: Every time you see a blatant anime reference, take a drink.
Golden Time: Every time you – aaaargh screw it
“Kyoukai no Kanata: Every time Mirai acts outrageously moe, take a drink.”
You’re trying to kill people, you monster.
I wonder if I’ll get charged with manslaughter if people die from attempting my drinking game…
Isn’t that the premise of NouCome? Unlike the other shows where it’s the unspoken truth.
Also, in the case of the Valvrave screenshot, that’s one of the most sensible moments in the show.
As for Appregio, that might be even more evil than Kyoukai.
You’re right about Valvrave, but I laughed at that scene so I thought why the hell not
Objection: If I were to take a swig every time I saw a picture of someone wearing a skimpy dress in Kill la Kill, I’d die.
However, If I were to take one everytime someone dons one, I’d only get two an episode.
Bakemono. It’s lose-lose for everyone.
I realize it’s not really on your list but anyone who answers differently underestimates the number of stupid decisions Ash makes.
That’s meant to be Pokemon in that first comment >.<
Well, there IS a new Pokemon anime this season, so Ash’s chain of dumb decisions continues. Huzzah!
Hikari’s mellowed out a lot, so Nagi will probably keep you sober.
Valvrave thrives on crazy plot twists which is what makes it so fun (and the Savior of Anime) so that’ll probably send you right to a stomach-pumping facility.
Admittedly Golden Time is one of the more enjoyable anime, but that’s because I liked the light novel (read the first four volumes, and the Two Dimensions Special, but stopped because romance drama isn’t really my thing). So nothing to drink for that.
Can see that you changed your banner from Sakurasou no Pet Kanojo to Infinite Stratos II. Nicely done. Great to keep up with the times, I guess. I wouldn’t touch Infinite Stratos light novel though, it was plain and the writing was junevile to me. Unfortunately, my favorite light novel series Unbreakable Machine Doll has gotten a seriously screwed up and horrible anime adaptation (and my friend mentioned that the director was the same guy who directed Queen’s Blade Rebellion so that accounts for all the stupid, unncessary and excessive fanservice NOT inside the light novel. The worst thing? To include those fanservice scenes he REMOVED all the scenes that include vital plot points, important dialogue and grounded detail). Fortunately, Golden Time is looking good, so that’s my saving grace this season.
Forgot to ask you about Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio. I like the manga, but as with Unbreakable Machine Doll, the anime isn’t following it exactly. Still I don’t mind because it’s not as if they throw in fanservice for the sake of it.
Priceless.
[…] Third, it’s actually inspired a ton of differing reactions around the blogosphere, many of which are evolving responses to other responses, including some of the ones listed above. On almost every level, there seems to be a hell of a lot going on other than just absolutely wacky antics, and it might be useful to keep this in mind to prevent the same thing that happened to Hyouka (essentially being pigeonholed) happening here. There is some value in seeing the connections between Kill La Kill and say TTGL, but we should try and judge it on its own terms I think. That’s just my opinion though – you’re more than welcome to just screw all this nonsense and just enjoy the ride! […]
Valvrave: Every time you ship L-Elf with someone, take a drink.
That was the dumbest thing I ever heard
